Slaves of the 21st Century

Il reporter Simone Perolari ha realizzato un servizio fotografico sul traffico di esseri umani in Russia ed in Italia, pubblicato sul sito http://www.invision-images.com/
La parte sull'Italia è dedicata all'attività di PIAM onlus.

In Russia the modern slaves phenomenon is growing as the country is a source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children trafficked for the purposes of forced labor and commercial sexual exploitation, from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Moldova to Russia for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation and forced labor, including work in the construction and fishing industry. Was it Zhirinovsky when he publicly declared that: "The new Russian economic miracle could not be realized without slaves" that led to massive human trafficking and modern slavery in Russia? As it seems there is no need for public declares in order humans to be exploited by humans.
In many developed European countries, especially those that are gateways to Europe as Greece or Italy the street prostitution rises day by day. At Italy the NGO PIAM (Project for the Integration of Immigrants) Onlus, based in Asti and run by Alberto Mossino and his wife Regina, offers since 2000 social, cultural and occupational integration of migrants with special focus to migrant women forced to prostitution.
